Happy Thanksgiving!
According to the AA preamble ”Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics achieve sobriety.” Bill W interpreted the practice of this primary purpose to be maximum service to God, as we understand him and to our fellow men. By selflessly serving others I continue to stay Sober.
The food will be prepared in my home and individually packaged in Styrofoam. Packed in coolers they will be delivered by pickup to the intended. We have already purchased, two each, turkeys and hams, and some of the Styrofoam trays. Pixs of some of the things we have already, including bags of food for families, are included in the Slideshows above. What's needed most are bottled water, items for the bags and care packs and help with the cake; volunteers to help with deliveries are needed, too.
To this end starting Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015, for Thanksgiving, we are going to prepare and deliver dinners to my Brothers and Sisters among sick and suffering alcoholics/addicts, the shut in, the homeless, and the hungry. We are going to carry the message of hope, that saved me, and a meal straight to the traps, smittys, alleys and cubbyholes. We are going fishin’.
